The foundation is one of the most important parts of your house. Everything else is built off of it, so it needs to be extremely sturdy and stable. When settling, water, and other factors damage the foundation, the problem can grow into an emergency, fast. This video shows how a foundation repairs service fixes a cracked concrete foundation.

Fixing a crack can require a multi-faceted approach. The first thing to look at is the drainage in the yard.

If the drainage is causing water to leak into the foundation, the yard needs to be graded to prevent this. It’s especially important in areas of the country where temperatures reach below freezing because the expanded frozen water will cause a lot of damage.

If the drainage is alright, then a simple crack can be addressed with a specialized sealant. The contractor will grind the crack to be a bit deeper and more accessible for the resin they will be layering in. They use low viscosity resin which binds extremely well to the textured surface of the concrete.

After inserting plastic ports into the wall, the contractors will fill it with the resin. For more information, check out the video in the link above.
